Looks like I can take continental from Love field or American from DFW. Continental has stops while AA doesnt. But I need to weigh that drive to DFW versus the ease of getting to Love Field.

2011 Official Football Schedule

Postby Dooby » Thu Feb 10, 2011 3:07 pm

Seems like first time we Haven't played UH and Tulsa back to back on the road in years.

Guessing I-AA team is parents weekend (smart) and Tulane is homecoming. Also note that while we play on thanksgiving, there is no game during fall break.

Again, considering who we play, I struggle to think how we could have scheduled this better. Good teams spread out. No three in a row road games. Bye practically in middle of season. Me likes.

How bizarre. I was trying to find other teams schedules and saw Tulsa finished year in the top 25. Their last loss was to SMU. So I guess we can say we beat a top 25 team last year. I guess I never saw that.

Remember that ESPN can throw a kink into all of this. I would bet they pick up the TCU game, and there is no telling what night they will want it on. Could be Thursday that would give even more time to prepare for UCF. Could be a Sunday which would still work with the open date.

I thought the fox sports contract prevented any of our games from being played on ESPN unless they were at a neutral site?

ESPN has no say on the TCU game. The game is at TCU, so the MWC TV deal owns the TV rights...that means VS or CBS CS and that the game will be played on Saturday. The MWC turned down ESPN for VS/CBSCS in part because they wanted to have their games played on Saturdays.

ESPN will almost surely move this game since they have lots of games on Thurs/Fri/Sun during the first week of the season, kind of like how the Texas Tech game was moved for SMU's opener last season.

Will the MTN even exist 18 months from now?

Depending on how we are doing, it wouldn't surprise me to see us play on ESPN vs. UCF, Tulsa or UH.

again CUSA no longer has an ESPN Contract-so we won't be on it at least for Home Games or CUSA Road Games

I'm sure this has been discussed, what were the "pros" for going to Foxsw? I think to recruits, ESPN is college football, even if you are playing on a Thursday.

Correct, but the Texas A&M game falls under the Big 12 TV deal so ESPN will probably pick that game and move it to a time slot for the opening weekend.
