Not sure if it was on this message board or in something in Texas Football. Someone put up a list perhaps fifteen years long of HP quarterbacks who were recruited by D1 football programs.
All the comments and generalizations about the program are true. They run a D-1 type of system, very disciplined, timed practice, tough off season, etc.. Some of the coaches have worked college and coach Wells is fantastic at developing O-lineman technique. But if the suggestion they may not be sending players to the next level is far from the facts. These trends likely run in cycles. One could argue they may be one of the best over the past 10 years even though they have some slow years. In many years there are kids that can go forward but prefer to end it and focus on academics and college life only, because they can. Going back to 2001 I recall two went to the next level and possible three more that could have. In 2002 they had the mother-load year when 8 went to the next level and three had a chance and did not. 2003 had 3 that went to the next level. Then I vaguely recall at least 1- 2 per year until 2006. In 2006 I recall there were 6 (two as preferred). 2007, 08,09,10 may have totaled 3.
An interesting question may be what other programs may be as or more successful in the past decade?

I think HP would definitely have the edge; however Calallen did send something like 7 to college programs one year not too long ago (2005?). HP guys typically do much better in college than Calallen guys do (with a few notable exceptions, like the Adami boys who were stars at SMU). Of course, Calallen does have a smaller student body than HP, but there is similar success in the past twenty years between the two programs and both have been in 4A that entire time.
