Think Coach Bennett and his new staff are the only important additions to next year's team? Not so fast my friends!
There were a lot of players who redshirted (or missed much or all of the year for other reasons) this year, and several of them will be counted on next year. Who's going to be most critical to the team's success next year?
To me, it's easy: Chris McMurtray and Russ Davis. Crowley had a nice year this year and needs to be replaced by a reliable kicker. Walterscheid .... well, he needs to be replaced. McMurtray and Davis can give us points and field position, which weren't always guaranteed in years past.

Re: 2002 surprise players
what about Stansbury at LB or any of the RS OL...those guys will need to contribute next year. How about Walker at DT? Will Blagg finally stay healthy and contribute on the DL? How about Pratt & Brown. Do they come back as 5th yr seniors? Can you see Brown as a blocking FB on short yardage situations? Will Kris Briggs find his niche in that role?
Re: 2002 surprise players
I've heard a lot of good things about the offensive linemen, particularly Tommy Williams, who is supposed to be a monster.
Also, look for good things from DT Marcus Walker.
