SMU loses game, wins the post game fight

Postby Sam I Am » Sat Sep 04, 2004 10:37 pm

Get this, Leach has Tech pass for another score on the last play of the game. Then Bennett rushes Leach, and the melee was on. Final score 27-13. I'll bet there are some fines or other penalites for the offending parties after this. Kick'em!

Swanny is right. Leach is a classless, common son of a b*tch.

Always humorous when the losers who can't control themselves and act out violently (after the game) label the winners as 'classless'.

Losers.

You've written the same message 5 times now-why don't you go back to the Tech board and tell that to Tech's own fans who think Leach was totally out of line. I also have degrees from both schools and am embarrassed of Tech tonite. It really is sad that some people are so blind that they have completly lost the basic concept known as sportsmanship.

I was there with a few friends, one of whom is a Tech grad. When Leach was having Cumbie throw deep in the last minute, he took off his Tech hat and hit it in his shirt. He told a bunch of SMU fans around him that he actually thought Coach Bennett's performance was impressive, and wished us well. From our seats back to the car, he hid his Tech hat the whole way. Well said, Stallion - except I'm not sure Leach everknew what sportsmanship was in the first place.

Which performance? The one during the game...or the one after?

We lost but something strange happened as we left the stadium. Not a word from the Sand Aggie fans. They were very subdued. Usually, someone somewhere is hooping it up after a win. Not so after this game. I don't know if that is because the Sand Aggie fans where caution in light of the utterly disgusting behavior of thier team and coach or if the Sand Aggie fans are such brain dead trolls that they didn't know how to celebrate.

That said, it is about time someone in the SMU organization showed their emotion at this endless losing. Glad to see Bennett isn't taking it anymore. Maybe that fire will translate into action. We can win this year.

As to starting a fight, at some point, people fight back against bully brehavior. The Sand Aggies don't have it and they better pray for mercy in the Big 12. Teams now know that the Sand Aggies don't have a running game and that the sand Aggies have real challanges just kicking extra point. And the Sand Aggies' defense will allow some pretty impressive numbers this year.

For the first time in many years, we looked like a football team and not a bunch of girly men in pretty uniforms.

that is a critical point Ponyte---Phil Bennett is the first football coach or administrator at this school in years that seems to give a [deleted] whether we win or lose. In particular it seems to be just another job to Big Jim Copeland. Hey I understand that this was probably our biggest showcase weekend for recruiting-I want our coach to get a little pissed when we lose and I wouldn't be surprised if we get a couple of commitments based on the fight left in our team and coach last Nite.

Exactly, Stallion. This only adds to Phil's ability to recruit. Gut check time.
