Southern Methodist University Salary Data

Post by RednBlue11 »

FINALLY something interesting to read in the Daily Campus

http://www.smudailycampus.com/news/salary-data

For those not statistically inclined there are some nice illustrations showing discrepancy in salary between the highest paid individuals at SMU using circles of various sizes.

if you are interested in inspecting the actual tax returns, they are posted in .pdf form at the bottom of the page going back to 2002.

That's fascinating to me. My sister is a professor (not at SMU) who thinks that all athletic departments get all of the money they want or need because "sports are all schools care about." I'll try to help her re-channel her frustration toward the administration rather than the athletic department (which, from what I have seen, is in dire need of more resources, not rolling in money, as she seems to think).

Those tax returns make for some interesting reading. SMU has it's hands in a lot of pies. Wish I understood more of what is in there.
