The Fightin' SMU Mustangs

Postby Stallion » Sun Sep 05, 2004 12:00 am

I gained a lot of respect for this team tonite not only in the way they fought on the field but they way they got in Texas Tech face when they tried to kick sand in our face. That will go along way in bringing this team together. I have no problem with a coach trying to get his backups a chance to compete in the waning seconds-I even am charitable enough to say that I don't mind them throwing deep. But Leach showed what a truly classless [deleted] he is by running players in from the sideline just to run it up some more when the clock would have run out . What goes around comes around. There is no excuse for that and if you don't understand that then you are just as classless as that clown. What a great example to us all.

Exactamundo. Leach is a no class bum, right up there with Billy Tubbs. Bennett did the right thing. He just went way, way up on my respect-o-meter. I hope it was a good solid punch. Leach may think twice before he tries that crap again on somebody else. I give props to Bennett. TKO.

Oh, HUGE respect for Coach Bennett. How old is he? Mid-40s? 50? Yet he went in alone to tell Leach about the lack of class he showed. Hustling that 6'9" WR on the field with a few seconds left .... what a complete jerk.

How many coaches would have the juevos to lead his team into battle like that? Not many. Mack Brown? No. Franocchio? No. Leach? OF COURSE NOT. The two that come to mind off the top of my head are Gary Patterson at TCU and Guy Morriss at Baylor - those are two guys who seem pretty tough and willing to lay it all out there for their teams.

To me, Coach Bennett just skyrocketed in all forms of respect and admiration. I want my son to play for a man like Coach Bennett. That is a man who can - and will - lead us back to where we want to be.

Way to go, Coach! We're behind you 100 percent.

First I gotta say...
Great job to our players tonight! My voice was already gone at the end of the 1st half from screaming so much for you guys! We're pumped up from start to finish tonight.

I dont know what to say about the Red Raiders tonight. Ive never heard a 5th grader cuss before until tonight thats for sure.

oo well the Raiders can have their win but theyll know in the back of their minds that at the end of the day tonight...

The SMU Mustangs almost caught them
