Seeding scenarios for the C-USA Tournament

Mustangs head to El Paso next week for the Conference USA Tournament. Based on the outcome of the last regular-season games this weekend, the Mustangs can end up seeded anywhere between 4 and 8.

4 seed if: SMU beats UTEP and Southern Miss loses at Tulsa and Memphis loses at home to Tulane.

5 seed if: SMU beats UTEP, Marshall loses at home to UCF and either Southern Miss loses at Tulsa or Memphis loses at home Tulane.

6 seed if: SMU beats UTEP, Marshall wins at home against UCF and either Southern Miss loses at Tulsa or Memphis loses at home Tulane.

6 seed if: SMU beats UTEP, Marshall loses at home to UCF, Southern Miss loses at Tulsa and Memphis loses at home Tulane.

7 seed if: SMU loses to UTEP and ECU loses at UAB.

8 seed if SMU loses to UTEP and ECU wins at UAB.

Crazy how tight this conference is with only one day left. Any way you cut it, we improve over the last several years. Have to look at this as a good season for the guys.

The way things started, I'd have to say I am pleasantly surprised this team will finish with a winning record...but looking forward to better years ahead

Definitely. These kids played their [deleted] off. Papa turned out to be a bona fide CUSA POY candidate. Doh and his guys coached 'em up and got a lot out of them.

Now let's take a couple in the conf tourney!

Looks like a 7th seed. UAB is destroying ECU.

How is the 1st round format? 5 plays 12, 6 plays 11, 7 plays 10...etc?

I guess we play UCF?

I think that's right...that we get Rice in the 1st round, but not sure whether winner of our game gets Tulsa or UTEP in next round

tough call in the second round..but I would take my chances with UTEP....

Tulsa is a physical team that gives up problems...I still have no damn idea how we won in Tulsa, especially after they owned us at home...

If we can get past Rice, I am glad we are playing Tulsa. Although they have been playing about the best in our league it beats playing UTEP in front of their home crowd.

Let's just hope we can get that far...
