Re: Official SMU v. Rice (Round 3) Game Thread
I like Losh, but he's playing slow. I'm not sure if missing that much practice held him up, or messed w/his conditioning or what. I'd think he'll rebound next year, high skill level. Who starts in the backcourt probably depends on IF Losh steps up, and IF Cotton can run the point. Since Losh hasn't shown much yet, prob Frog & cotton?
Re: Official SMU v. Rice (Round 3) Game ThreadDamn,
Listened to this post game crap, with the promise of Doherty, and they never did it.... WTH!!!!!!!! Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!
Re: Official SMU v. Rice (Round 3) Game Thread
you are probably better off! -- good night
Re: Official SMU v. Rice (Round 3) Game ThreadWhen we all sober up, we'll remember that this team has done more than anyone thought even remotely possible in November and December. Remember that? There were a lot of folks predicting the Ponies would go 0-fer in conference games. Instead, they beat Memphis, Houston and Tulsa, among others.
Whether we deserve it or not, I bet Coach D is right and we play in the CBI or CIT or CIA or whatever the hell those other tournaments are. Not exactly the stuff that shuts down offices while folks fill out their brackets, but it will be nice to see the Ponies play in a postseason game, especially in a season in which I admit, I didn't see us winning a single conference game. Here's hoping Papa Dia, Mike Walker, Ryan Harp, Collin Mangrum, Myles Luttman and Tomasz Kwiatkowski get a chance to suit up at least one more time. In the meantime, I'm going to have another drink.
Re: Official SMU v. Rice (Round 3) Game ThreadI did not watch or listen last night, but the box score suggests late in the year, teams figured out that if you take Rob out of the game, we are easy to beat
the old axiom of how difficult it is to beat a competitive team 3 times in the same season rears it's ugly head once again oh well. these guys exceeded my expectations for this season...now on to spring football, since we don't play baseball
Official SMU v. Rice (Round 3) Game ThreadKind of funny to chime in not knowing the final score and read the threads where I left off.
If it makes you feel any better
Re: Official SMU v. Rice (Round 3) Game Thread
Losh was put in a very difficult situation. He's a talent. "We have a great bunch of outside shooters. Unfortunately, all our games are played indoors."
Re: Official SMU v. Rice (Round 3) Game ThreadWhy do you set up a 3 point shot to win a game when you are only behind by 1 point???????
Go inside for an easy shot, particularly when Rice would not want to foul, and/or pick up the foul. Lousy coaching in my opinion.I still see very little progress for this program and continued bad coaching.
Re: Official SMU v. Rice (Round 3) Game ThreadThat was a very disappointing game. Once again too many turnovers to overcome and too many offensive rebounds allowed. Still, a much better than anticipated year .
The players played hard every game and we definitely had areas of improvement. Thanks to the players that made this the most successful season in a very long time.
