I think it has been mostly level headed with a few loud assassins.

He's not getting fired now. But given his success this year. Success breeds higher expectations. If we slip on our xikjjoio, he'll be back at ESPN.

What "success"??? We finished under .500 in C-USA, with losses to UC Riverside, TCU killed us and even they are about to fire their coach, 3-13 Tulane, 4-12 Houston, and choked against 5-11 Rice when it mattered the most. We failed to a win a game in the C-USA tournament for the 5th consecutive year! All while racking up probation which is the icing on the cake. If that is deemed a success in your eyes then the bar must be set pretty low. And that's the entire problem with his program...a low bar that we can't ever hurdle.

Two consecutive years of setting a school mark for the most wins in C-USA is a sign of progress.

Dear lord.
Our "probation," if you can even call it that, is barely a slap. It doesn't stop us from postseason anything and barely messes with how we can recruit. It's a non-issue.
The more people continue to call for Doh's head, the more you reinforce how clueless you are about the ACTUAL state of the bball program.
Since you didn't watch any games this year, let me tell you, they were a fun bunch to watch. They easily outplayed their available talent and were competitive in pretty much every CUSA game.

2 problems with that gem: 1) Doherty has been our coach for nearly the whole time we have been in CUSA, so great he outdid himself , 2) the league is real weak sauce this year. Memphis isn't even very good. The WAC used to be much better than this version of CUSA.

Would that not be more a factor of SMU not being in CUSA for a very long time than good progress? Unless we're judging progress with the same mindset of parents watching an infant learn to walk.

You can't cry about Conferences gone by. This years CUSA is way better than you're giving it credit for. By most every measure, it's the strongest the league has been since expansion

Doesnt matter what anyone thinks - he improved the program enough (albiet marginally) to get at least another year - so we can see if the cubbard is truely full as advertised and if our new recruits are the real deal.

at beginning of season i was for an exit. If I was big O i would tell him he has another year but it is a short leash.

last 4 games were lost by a total of what, 10 points? I think even the biggest doh hater out there has to acknowledge some progress here. The Rice game was a bitter pill, but i like what i saw in the regular CUSA season. He needs to find his starters and 3 bench guys faster next year so we dont dig a hole vs trash teams - that will be critical next year.

close losses? To Rice no less? since when does that count as progress? Even Bennett had a .500 record and close loss against Rice in his fifth year (I think he got fired). I understand looking to the future at the beginning of a coaches tenure. In year 5, you don't get a pass for losing to Rice. I understand stopping short of firing Doh at this time, but to dismiss another dismal exit from the conference tourney as meaningless is ludicrous. It was a terrible way to finish another season.

Actually Bennet got one more year after that .500 season with a close loss to Rice...

Okay. The haters have officially convinced me. Doh should go which means his contract would have to be bought out. Everyone hating needs to up their Mustang Club contribution, so the school can afford it. Please PM me, and I will gladly provide you with an additional Morgan Campaign Pledge Card.

Put up or shut up. These decisions aren't free.
