You are allowed to return into the game if you are unable to shoot the free throws in NCAA rule. I do not know how they pick who shoots though. Rob tried to go to the line but the ref picked Hanes.

When a free throw shooter is injured, the opposing coach must now select one of the team's players from the four on court. (Previously, the team's own coach could sub in anyone he wanted.) Another good rule.

Is the rule on this that the opposing team gets to choose the foul shooter? I saw Scott Sutton flash 2 to the officials. Did that mean they wanted Haynes to attempt them?

If that's the case, I don't understand that.

Those refs were clowns. The end of regulation was one of the most sadly hilarious things I have ever seen. I liked how the PA announcer said "The referees have made a decision" - when they actually just decided not to make a decision. Personally, I thought it was a shot clock violation on ORU, but whatever.

In the grand scheme of things we are probably lucky they didn't give Doh a technical at the end of regulation - now that would have been an interesting day on ponyfans.

Well, when you have the "great" Bob Vetketter (the bald one) calling your game, you just never know what you're going to get.

Vetketter used to do SWC games and I think Tom Penders found a way to run and the likes of Tony Stigliano out of the rotation.

When Dia went out because of injury, the opposing coach gets to pick out of the four remaining players on the floor who will shoot the free throws. He did indeed flash a 2 to the dumb [deleted] official so haydns would be the shooter. The old rule was that Doh could pick the shooter but that rule changed a few years back so that a non shooter does not fake an injury and the injured players coach can pick the best shooter on the floor. Make sense?

Not sure but I did not think there was a shot clock violation. I thought it was a long range shot that hit the rim and came down into one of our players hands. To be honest, I can't remember as so much chaos was going on.

I think he got hit in the gonads. 45 or the guy with the long dreads was slapping at him in the stomach and I think hit more. His walk off the court also looked a little hurtful down in the groin area.

I think you're referring to the end of OT. They missed the shot. Dia got the rebound with about 28 seconds left. ORU had to foul. Morrison was slapping away and I guess caught Dia in the....

That's when the foul situation came up where Sutton requested Haynes to attempt them. Good call for Sutton. Make the worst foul shooter attempt them.

BTW, Good for Haynes for sticking those two. When he hit the first, I thought "My God, we might win this thing."
