Re: Somewhat OT: Richmond SpidersFYI - Richmond is the Virginia version of Baylor except urban. Its in a nice part of Richmond suburbs. Downtown Richmond is a ghost town due to the subprime meltdown, manufacturing exodus, and not a lot of other industry moving in. Richmond still is on the per capita murder list.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: Somewhat OT: Richmond Spiders
Richmond area hoops is underrated. I've been to some really tough areas to watch pick-up in the past, and Richmond is right there. Collegiately, both Richmond & VCU make for a nice 1,2 punch. Area around VCU is rough.
Re: Somewhat OT: Richmond Spiders
Yeah it's a bit of a culture shock graduating from SMU then going to visit a sibling at VCU. Definitely some differences between the two.
Re: Somewhat OT: Richmond Spiders
Richmond's pretty small, though. Definitely much smaller than Baylor and I think smaller than SMU as well. Area around U Richmond reminds me of Highland Park. Beautiful campus, too. VCU's got a nice area to its west. Lots of old rowhomes if memory serves me correctly. The other areas around campus leave a lot to be desired.
Re: Somewhat OT: Richmond SpidersSweet 16 for Richmond! Man that offense is a thing of beauty when you have the personnel to run it correctly.
Re: Somewhat OT: Richmond SpidersYou have to cheer for Richmond, it's like watching us w/better personnel
Re: Somewhat OT: Richmond Spiders
Exactly. BTW Morehead reminded me a bit of Jacksonville.
