if it's the 2nd and 3rd string still scoring points I can accept that as those players consider it a new ball game for themselves. a time for them to show case in front of the coach to vie for a starting postion or lay down a foundation for their future. didn't Tech leave the first string in?
I recall Lou Holts at Norte Dame didn't run up the score when SMU came off the pealth penalty.

Gentlemen...Gentlemen... Please remember yourselves. Trying to explain the concept of "class" to the average red raider (or for that matter Big 12 fan) is like trying to explain the color red to a blind man. It is completely outside the realm of their experience. They cannot help it...

Too true Greenwich. While I am no fan of notre dame, I too do remember watching the Ponies play them coming back from the dp. We were obviously outmand, yet the irish had the sportsmanship to not rub it in, and showed way more class than anything such as trying to score a td with :05 left. Way to go team, way to go Bennett.

Go Ponies!

Why didn't yall let up? Please explain

I'll explain.

1. In soccer overall goal differential is commonly used as a tiebreaker at the end of the season. Those goals actually might have mattered at the end of the season. Big 12 standings are not determined by points scored. Another 7 wouldn't have mattered. And don't bring up margin of victory in the BCS computers, you aren't going to the national title game.

2. We didn't score a single goal in the last 20 minutes of that game (I can use the Internet too). That's roughly equivalent to a quarter in football. So if you had been up 27-13 with :05 left in the 3rd, go ahead and try to score. Score all you want in the 3rd. No problem with that.
