But you care or are curious enough to check in and post. So deep down, you really are just a wee bit excited.

And I bet you checked in on some gadget to find out how they did after your round of golf.

God forbid you ever acknowledge it. That's fine.

Just dont feed me bullshift and call it waffles. And dont tell me Babe is the king when he never stared down Pablo on the mound. The CIT is what it is...fun. All Im saying is the line should read,

SMUs 1st *postseason* win since 1988.

How do you make the asterisk bigger?

After many years, the asterisk was removed from Roger Maris because some idiots believed he had an advantage of playing 8 more games in a MLB season. Of course, nevermind that MLB was responsible for increasing the length in the schedule.

Don't even bring that stuff in there.

We all have acknowledged the CBI is fun. That's pretty much what we've been saying since the DAMN invitation was extended.

Mitch...I could really like you...if you werent bipolar.

My initial comment was...and I quote...does the CIT really count as postseason? And semantically...yes it does. In real life...it doesnt. Period. Its fun.

You think a 4star is gonna turn his nose up at UALR because we tell him we got to the sweet elite8 of the CI.comT? If so...youre part of the problem that has SMU content with mediocrity.

If I were you I'd draft a letter to CUSA, Dr. Turner and Steve Orsini and Demand ** be placed on the CIT results. While you're at it, do the same with the Hawaii Bowl and Armed Forces Bowl results. There really wasn't anything at stake.

And ask the university to put an * on the flight to Cedar Falls Iowa bc that shouldn't count either. SMU is going up there bc it didn't have anything else better to do this coming Monday night. What the hey...let's go to Iowa.

As for recruiting if you believe the credentials of the kids who signed, Doherty sold something...it sure wasn't a postseason history bc those kids signed in November recruits. And you know he can sell this season as a turning and needing kid X to put the school over the top - Recruiting 101.

Thats the best idea youve had all week. Where's my pen?

While Im at it...I'll demand they build a new practice facility. Ill demand we bring in a scoreboard that belongs in a 20k seat arena. I'll demand renovations for Moody. Ill demand a new coach. I'll demand better parking. Because once I have all that...then we'll be relevant again. I'll even double my annual donation to the MC.

Some schools have too much history/pride to even play in the NIT...are they wrong for that? I bet TCU wldnt even play in the CI.comT bowl. Or maybe they are...I just havent seen it on ESPN yet.

Double your mustang club donation and maybe we could afford those things. The cart goes behind the horse.

Hey!...who's team are you on? ;o) Plus if double the members of the MC gave double my donation we probably cldnt even get a cool sign in Moody.

Point is SMU doesnt need any of those things!! But we cant see thru our selfmade cloud of BS to realize it. Give me $20mm (Crum, etc)...and I GUARANTEE a better return! SMUs problem isnt $$, its lack of good intel. You wouldnt leave your plumbing to your gardener...so dont do it to your hoops!

no it doesnt. i don't speak for mustangsabu, but the way I read it is he's excited that we're playing on saint patricks day not the dawn of a new era. drop the hyperbole and let us be excited that we get to watch basketball.

and remember this all day - shank shank shank shank shank

Indeed I was referring to being able to enjoy a continuing season on Paddy's Day. And after the win today, which was as exciting as I've seen at SMU, I'm feeling even more lucky! If people don't want to enjoy this CIT tournament as much as possible that's their problem. Some might have been playing golf, but some were at Moody watching our team with a great sense of pride.

okay, so does that mean i do speak for mustangsabu?[/quote]

Lol..... Can you get me cheaper cable?

Its a lot of talk about shoving stuff up assses and spunk squirting on this board.

Is it ponyfans or bonerfans?

Dont shoot the messenger. Yall sit idly by with your participation certificate sedated by your CI.comT dose of Riddlin...while we continue to become in blur in TCUs rear-view mirror.

I was there it was GREAT beating highly regarded Notre Dame on St. Patrick's Day and the native N. Carolina fans were for us and the Dean Dome rocked. I also remember being at the game and walked in with legendary SMU fan Red McClain. That day I told him I wanted to be as big an SMU fan as him!!!
Peruna88 wrote:So, was anybody at the game at UNC? I was and it was AWESOME. All the ND fans were saying, "No way you beat us on St. Patrick's day." The arena was very pro-SMU that night. All the UNC, Duke and ACC fans were cheering for SMU. Of course, that changed when we played Duke 2 nights later.

I agree that SMU does not have a money problem; however, the big money it has is always earmarked. It needs a lot more before it can do those things, and until one of our more generous contributors steps up, we need to do everything we can to help progress the program.
Although I imagine our concessions could do it with those $4 bottles of water, I really like the idea I've seen on the board of doing a $1 hot dog night to increase attendance.
