What You Must Do in Dallas The city's essential experiences. You're not a true local until you've done them all.
Hit the boulevard at SMU on game day
We know, we know. People in Texas loooove football. But you know what the students and alumni of SMU love? Boulevarding. (Don’t you dare call it tailgating.) They put on their SMU best and head out to partake in free beer, free concerts, and free people-watching. Though there are a few crazy, drunk fans, there are also family-friendly activities. And there’s a great community. It’s one of those everybody-knows-everybody environments. SMU had many, many years to perfect it, as games weren’t much to look forward to. http://www3.dmagazine.com/content/must- ... n-game-day

Agreed that this is a must do. I have out of town friends, not SMU people, who have gone and raved about the experience. Heck, I have two Aggies on my block in UP who have purchased Boulevard spots. We are very blessed to have the Boulevard. Is it September yet?

That picture makes me tear up a bit - ive seen a better one even from down near mockingbird with the entire length of Bishop shown - it is awesome. We are in the top 5 tailgate in the nation.

RednBlue...I think the Grove is a bit over rated. Reminds me of the "one eyed king a blind country" syndrome, people standing around asking each other.."aren't we cool, isn't this cool, we are cool, right?" A LOT more drunks down there v. the 'Vard...a LOT more really sleezy chicks v. the 'Vard, not that there is anything wrong with sleezly chicks...and, their product / team hasn't exactly been as consistent as they would have liked over the last 10+ years...tons of folks ripping each other off at halftime, does that happen as much on the "Vard? End of the day, give me The Vard!!

Any advertisements for games need to include equal time advertising the blvd.

none. i have a friend who thought about getting one last year, and i told him there was a wait, but he was sure that b/c he knew some higher ups in the Athletic Dept, that it wouldn't be a problem. guess where he was tailgating last year. my spot. i do believe they have added additional spaces over the last 2 years to meet some of the demand, but they aren't on the "boulevard" proper, but rather just tailgating spaces north of the stadium. don't get me wrong, it would be awesome if "the boulevard" became much bigger than bishop to incorporate every inch of grass on campus being utilized for pre-game parties. now THAT would be awesome.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

The could lease out the spots on the exterior of the plot of grass between the Boulevard of Dallas Hall. They're usually empty, or occupied by guys throwing frisbees to their dogs.
