I don't see this as doing anything except getting Nader a little press. And maybe a few more bucks in donations. After that, there isn't much he can do to change things now. most of the world doesn’t see the need to worry about the student part of student athlete including the NCAA. If the NCAA doesn’t care, why should the rest of us?

Ah me. Ralph Nader was a "cook" ("kook?") as other wise described on this thread. I my self have never gone for the Unsafe at Any Speed blather he espoused. If anything, it always made me glad that it was unlikely I'd ever be on the same road with Nader.

Myrdel may have been kidding but it would be pretty neat to have one of the 180 HP '65-'66 turbo powered Corvairs. I think Jay Leno has one in his collection.

No way! That was my college car. Dependable and fun to drive with its stick shift. Actually jumped it once with a metal coat hanger, when someone stole my distributor cap. Now I will admit the backseat was small and with the trunk in front not the safest, but pure fun, if not power with a top end of 71+ mph.
