The word form ESPN this morning was severe NCAA inpropriaties. Interestingly enough arent a few of the TCU track athletes also on the football team. i highly doubt the athletic minds at TCu want the NCAA following that too deeply, so lets go ahead and can the coach now. Very interesting, gotta love these grassy nole thoughts.
What kind of extra perks are being mentioned? Jet-pack shoes? Surely even at a place like TCU, which traditionally has a very strong track program, there can't be a whole lot of people watching (track just doesn't draw in this country), so I'd find payment hard to believe. Academic leniency? Extra helpings in the cafeteria?
And for our interests, which football players also are on the track team? I think WR Reggie Harrell is (that guy is scary-fast). Some of the DBs, maybe? Any OLs throw for the track team? Very odd story. Rise up, Mustang Nation!
Go SMU!
Re:
I don't think we have anyone participating in the field events - from the football team or otherwise. As you know, TCU is all about the sprints...my guess is that any problems would likely involve the recruitment/handling of the foreign sprinters??? No inside info here, just a guess.
DFWFrog you cant be serious, that no one on the football team is running track for you, such as Reggie harrel 2nd team all conference WR and oh yeah hasnt lost a CUSA hurdle event ever. Shane Sims, OG should also contend for CUSA title in the shot. Not to mention former frog RB Ricky Madison. This is direct from your athletic webste.
