Who's attending SMU Lettermen Hall of Fame Induction?

Post by Water Pony »

I will be in Dallas Friday to honor Coach "Red" Barr, SMU's great swimming coach, who is one of five inductees. Sounds like there will be a big turnout for all the honorees.

"The SMU Lettermen's Association is pleased to announce the newest class of its Athletics Hall of Fame. The 2011 inductees - Craig James (Football), Gene Phillips (Men's Basketball), Lisa Cole Zimmerman (Women's Soccer), Luchi Gonzalez (Men's Soccer), Tommy Bowers Sr. (Baseball) and Coach A. R. Barr (Men's Swimming)- will be honored at a dinner and induction ceremony at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 6, at the Hilton Anatole.

Great. Swimmers, past and current coaches and Friends of SMU Swimming will have 11 tables to salute the man who built and coached the team from its inception, A. R. "Red" Barr. :D

Last night in Dallas I joined my SMU Swimming & Diving teammates to honor our legendary coach and true gentleman, A. R. "Red" Barr, during his induction into our Athletic Hall of Fame. Amazing evening and great comaradiere! His legacy is the men he trained and inspired to do the right thing (and our best). Thx, coach!
