Guess we made them mad by almost beating them last year. tcu 28 SMU
waiting on a score. Saw us come back from being behind against Baylor 21 - 0 at the half. We held Baylor inside the 10 to start the second half, and came back to beat them 28 - 21. I attended the game with my brother a Baylor student at the time in 78. Last edited by PlanoStang on Sat Sep 11, 2004 7:37 pm, edited 1 time in total.
I just don't see that big of a comeback here. What's up with the passing yardage against our D? Is it the rush or coverage or combination?
Our worst nightmare - a blow outThe first half is a real set back for the SMU program. WE must generate some offense or kiss the season goodbye.

Nope, not a setback, just a learning experience. ![]()
Running up the score?Just tuned in before the half. Down 28 and they run it on 4th down deep in there own territory? This is not running up the score, it's playing the game.
I really want to hear some different names on the field in the 2nd half. We don't have enough offense to come back, but this is a great opportunity to see what some guys can do.
Come on guys, we knew this would be a tough one. I am surprised we're not doing so well, but we're young and we need a little more O (like perhaps a wide reciever or two). I still think we'll be fine once the WAC schedule kicks in, we just need to be patient with the kids and see what some of the other kids are capable of. No reason to throw in the towel on the season, as long as the kids don't. Go get 'em boys!!!
Support the Commitment! We're all SMU Mustangs fans- we should all be committed!
I will never quit on these guys, but have to be realistic. One thing for sure...after last year's "scare", I'm sure Patterson had the frogs ready for this game. I'm sure they feared an upset and knew they had to bring it tonite. Last year, we caught them in a letdown after having their BCS bubble burst. Bottom line is that we are a year or two away from competing with good teams, and TCU has a good team.
With as many frosh and sophs as SMU has on the field, I do look for some positives before this year is over and firmly believe we will be ready to compete before these sophs graduate. We all knew the 1st 3 games might be painful, but I still say we have 6 games on this year's schedule that should be competitive and 4 of those are home games. The season is far from over.
you would have to have seen it to understand just how completely dominated and outmanned (sp) we were. be glad you weren't there, though we had a pretty decent crowd at the game.
there's already no living with those people. if they beat TT next week their heads won't fit into tarrant county. i could not have gotten out of there fast enough. i practically sprinted to the car. i'm not embarrassed or ashamed...far from it...but a little frog ego goes a long way. hats off to them though. they beat the living pee out of us.
