There are still two, maybe three coaching positions left to be filled. Anyone have a clue as to who they may be? We had earlier heard John Blake's name tossed around....possibly as defensive line coach which sounds reasonable as Giles has been moved to just defensive ends coach. Who then will be the DC? Also I assume there will be a LB's coach. There was also some talk about assistants from KState coming with Bennett. So far one has....any more to follow???

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

I would guess that the others weren't announced because of bowl game commitments. They are not available yet. I don't know about Blake, but I would expect one of his assistants at K-State to come over and be the defensive coordinator, and Bennett will assist with that responsibility. Probably a couple of other assistants from K-State as well.

Do bowl commitments matter in all this? Coach Stanley is coming down from K-State -- which is going to a bowl -- and Coach Roark is coming from Tennessee, which is coming to a bowl. I'd find it hard to believe Coach Bennett can pluck some assistants from bowl-bound teams and gain their immediate release, but not others.
And my guess is that if Blake was coming, he'd be here and recruiting by now. It's not like he's doing anything else at the moment.
