Re: New Commitment/Other Breaking NewsAny Video on this Commitment ? I read somethings he said about helping the team and his effort practicing. I sure like his attitude.
Re: New Commitment/Other Breaking NewsThe (free) front page says it's someone named Brian Cramer. A google search says he's a defensive end from Round Rock (Pilot Point HS), Texas. Either 6'4" or 6'5", depending on which article you read, 230, 4.7.
SMU! SMU! SMU!

"The Stony Point defense has sacked another college scholarship. Stony Point head coach Craig Chessher confirmed to the American-Statesman on Wednesday that junior defensive end Brian Cramer has verbally committed to the SMU football program. Cramer joins Lake Travis athlete Colin Lagasse in the Mustangs’ Class of 2012 recruiting class. Cramer becomes Stony Point’s eight defensive player since 2008 to commit to a major college football program. Defensive end Tevin Mims (Texas), defensive tackle Jordan Wade (Oklahoma), defensive back Kenny Browder (Wyoming), defensive back Kevin White (TCU), defensive back Desmond Martin (Texas Tech), linebacker P.L. Lindley (Oklahoma) and linebacker Trevor Caswell (Air Force) have all suited up for Stony Point at one point over the past three seasons. During the 2010 regular season, Cramer played on a Stony Point junior varsity team that went 10-0 and he was placed on the varsity roster during Stony Point’s run to the state semifinals. Cramer, who started in Stony Point’s 28-24 state semifinal loss to Euless Trinity, caught a key first down on a botched field goal attempt in a regional playoff game against A&M Consolidated. This upcoming season, Cramer will be joined on defense by defensive back Brian Jacquet. Jacquet earned All-Central Texas second team honors last year and Chessher confirmed that he has picked up a scholarship offer from Air Force."
Re: New Commitment/Other Breaking NewsReally disappointed in our recruiting this year...
Re: New Commitment/Other Breaking NewsIf he truly has the work ethic that they claim he does then he can develop into a solid player by his junior or senior year.

Re: New Commitment/Other Breaking NewsI guess they're hoping to strike gold at the one-day camps. Granted it's nice that they're around the state as opposed to just on campus, but didnt PB already try that route? What happened to "now that we dont have to recruit by telephone and DVD and people can watch their kid play, it'll be like shooting fish in a barrel?"
Re: New Commitment/Other Breaking NewsThe one day camps were pretty much a bust last year with very few recruitable athletes. You got to do your groundwork to make these camps work. Hopefully they more this year

Re: New Commitment/Other Breaking NewsBracing for the blow back from the sunshine brigade, but this commitment at this point in the recruiting cycle does not seem to be building on success last year on the trail. With Nick on this one...
Re: New Commitment/Other Breaking NewsSMU right now with its Coach, Model, quality of life, reputation of school and facilities can outrecruit 4 of the 5 other CUSA West teams with its hands tied behind its back especially now that Todd Graham is gone from Tulsa. Its just a better deal based on most every factor. The issue is can SMU raise its game and compete against BCS schools, Championships, big bowls, Top 25 and BCS membership.s
