Re: New Commitment/Other Breaking News
Z Line and Richard Crawford can be added to the list with poor offers who have made great contributions so far...the diamond in the rough is the exception, not the rule....but is it a coincidence this staff continues to find these types of players? Yes it would be great to have all 4 star players with a slew of bcs offers...but we arent on that level yet.

Think what you want...I have been on this board a long time and in general do not over-react...
I also have been on the JJ love train for a long time....My concerns are legitimate whether you want to agree or not...
I hope all the talk in the background is motivating for these guys and if you know what the inside is, send them this message....
Get to fckin work...

I've heard from reliable sources that the new turf looks good.
Everyone have a good and safe holiday weekend.

CC, wasn't sprcifically addressing your comments, but others I have seen--sorry.
But, several of us are frustrated that we aren't being aggessive in our own home state.
This program is just on the verge of becoming special, but to get there we got to have then entire staff aggressively pursuing the best players of the country. Texas is will continue to be tough for us if we don't change how SMU is perceived, starting with our own recruiters. Klemm is not afraid to offer a Texas 4-star, the rest seem to be looking for the "easy" sell and afraid to mix it up. As hard as Texas is worked by every major program in the country, it is difficult for me to believe that there are many "diamonds in the rough" that other school haven't discovered.

New Commitment/Other Breaking News
Klemm does it all
Re: New Commitment/Other Breaking News
JR is working it.....and of course AK.....but others not so much. They don't have that engaging personality maybe, but even so...make some visits and make some calls. Sometimes that's ALL it takes to get a big name player to commit to SMU.

Odum is working very hard in FL and has already pulled in Elston Lane & has serious interest from other nice prospects like Devante Robinson, Adrian Burton and Lucas Thompson.ponyscott wrote:JR is working it.....and of course AK.....but others not so much. Re: New Commitment/Other Breaking News
Fair ranking? We basically have 3 recruiters that really hit the trail?
1. Adrian Klemm - Offensive Line Coach/Recruiting Coordinator (CA, TX, USA)
2. Jeff Reinebold - Wide Receivers Coach (Texas)
3. Derrick Odum - Secondary Coach (decent so far) - (Florida)
4. Bert Hill - Defensive Line Coach (some recruiting, Tx)
5. Tom Mason - Defensive Coordinator (closer, brought in at the end?)
6. Joe Haering - Linebackers Coach - any recruiting at all? (??)
7. Dan Morrison - Assistant Head Coach/Offense (?? - QB evaluator)
8. Wes Suan - Running Backs Coach (?? - any recruits)
9. Frank Gansz, Jr. - Special Teams Coach (TBD) - territory??
