Why go to Montana, I agree?
I would think taking Baylor and TCU is probable and taking OSU or Tech is not very probable at all. I think Texas State = Swst Texas in San Marcos.

HF, your right. We are much more likely to sweep TCU and Baylor than win one at OSU or Tech. I was just saying as far as post season play goes, we would be better off winning either the Tech or OSU game....I was being very optimistic. But I do look for the Tech game to be competitive. That PG they have from Louisiana is a damn good player and it should be fun to watch him and Hop go at it. The OSU game is a long shot....but I thought the same thing about Purdue last year.
BTW, this was discussed in a post a while back but it was pretty savvy for Tubbs to schedule UT-Tyler as our first game since Hop has to sit out.

Last year Tech broadcasted games on Channel 52, I hope that is the case again for our game.LA_Mustang wrote:HF, your right. Re:
damn good thinking East. If that wasnt the reason, it sure is a positive. The WAC tourney will be at altitude in Reno so its pretty important this year.EastStang wrote:Montana away. Maybe Tubbs wanted to give the players a non-conference game at altitude to get them ready for the trips to Boise and Reno later in the year. Just a guess. Otherwise it makes no sense, unless there was a cancellation.

But Bozeman's not in the mountains, is it? Higher elevation than Moody, of course, but I thought much of Montana was just outside the mountains.
How worked up is Bobby Knight going to be when he sees us after the mistreatment he suffered from our oh-so-rude fans? Talk about a game in which he'll intimidate the refs....
TT and OSU are going to be tough. Baylor and TCU are beatable.

You don't have to actually be in the mountains to be at a high altitude. Denver which is at the foot of the Rockies, but located on the high plains is called the mile high city. I think much of Montana is the same.
The elevation of Montana State University is 4900 feet above mean sea level. Not quite a mile high, but high enough to thin out that good ole air.

This is a good schedule for this group. Four non-conference games you hope to be able to win and 4 games with local/regional teams you'd really like to win. We will clearly be underdogs at Tech and OSU, but this team returns enough talent to surprise some people this year. With a good run early, this team just might end up one of the featured games during the bracket buster week.
