Report: Athlete Russell Hansborough to Commit to Auburnone of the more highly regarded Texas recruits SMU has offered that we have a realistic shot at based upon prior comments. BTW this new Vype Magazine may be a great source of recruiting/high school info. I just noticed they have David McNabb writing for them. There are a bunch of good free recruiting stories in their News section for example

Re: Report: Athlete Russell Hansborough to Commit to AuburnI'm excited about the possibility of Arlington Bowie facing Edna Karr (Algiers, La.) in Dallas over Labor Day weekend.
Bowie players are already doing their due diligence on Karr, although I'm not certain the game is set in stone (not positive the LHSAA has approved Karr's participation yet). Karr was the 4A runner-up to Franklinton last year. Franklinton came over to Dallas last year and lost to Abilene.
Re: Report: Athlete Russell Hansborough to Commit to Auburn
Your headline is misleading and your interpretation of the story is different than mine. He said he COULD --- didn't mean he would -- commit this weekend. He only said Auburn was his favorite. Kids have been saying one school is their favorite one week and another school the next. I think you're reaching. Sure, he may wind up committing to the Tigers. But I can tell you I never believed SMU was in this.
Re: Report: Athlete Russell Hansborough to Commit to AuburnIt is labeled a Report and its a 1 1/2 months old:
"Arlington Bowie all-purpose running back Russell Hansbrough enjoyed his unofficial visit to Auburn and says the Tigers are No. 1 on his recruiting list. He also said a commitment could come as soon as this weekend." "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

Re: Report: Athlete Russell Hansborough to Commit to AuburnHe will be able to transfer to SMU with immediate eligibilyty when Auburn sanctions are handed out in a year or so.

Re: Report: Athlete Russell Hansborough to Commit to Auburn
OK, then why would you put that headline up and put this on our board suggesting that it was a done deal? The report is 6 weeks old, so obviously he didn't commit after his visit 6 weeks ago. Obviously, something has changed to the point where he isn't 100 percent on this. I would presume that he's still evaluating all this. If the story was dated mid-to-late May, then fine. April? C'mon.
Re: Report: Athlete Russell Hansborough to Commit to AuburnI POSTED THIS 6 WEEKS AGO. BTW since TCU his 2nd choice may have already filled up with stud RBs I asked for an update from the services weeks ago but had no response. He's one of less than a handful of Top Texas 100 kids we have a shot at.

Re: Report: Athlete Russell Hansborough to Commit to Auburn
Stallion posted it on April 21st, the day it was published on the website. Pull your head out.
Re: Report: Athlete Russell Hansborough to Commit to AuburnOK. My bad. I goofed. I apologize. But why was this thing at the top of the recruiting page? Maybe I need to check my medication.
Re: Report: Athlete Russell Hansborough to Commit to Auburn
Some new poster just responded to it yesterday or this morning, hence it got bumped way up to the top.
Re: Report: Athlete Russell Hansborough to Commit to AuburnRight now, I feel like Gilda Radner's character on SNL during the news segment.
She was an older woman who went off complaining about something but was slightly off. Then when Jane told her what the real issue, she would say, "Oh, well that's different. Nevermind!''

Re: Report: Athlete Russell Hansborough to Commit to AuburnBTW to follow up on Hansborough-the only update I've seen since that Vype report is this Scout report a couple of days ago. Seems like favorites may have backed off or a new No. 1 has emerged along with a new top 3

Re: Report: Athlete Russell Hansborough to Commit to AuburnFrom the late Gilda Radner's page:
Emily Litella, an elderly hearing-impaired woman who gave angry and misinformed editorial replies on "Weekend Update" on topics such as "violins on television," the "Eagle Rights Amendment," "presidential erections," "making Puerto Rico a 'steak'", "busting school children", and "protecting endangered feces.'' Once corrected on her misunderstanding, Litella would end her segment with a polite "Never mind." But later on, she would answer Jane Curtin's frustration with a simple "[deleted]!"
