Folks there are some changes to the APR formula that are going to weed out some kids at a lot of schools especially schools recruiting a lot of marginal students. There are also some new rules providing for 4 game suspensions for kids that do badly in 1 semester then have to compensate by taking a bunch of hours later. Have to meet certain minimums throughout the year now.

Anyone ever wonder whether these early morning practices have a negative effect on SOME athletes. What time do these kids have to get up to make practice-5:00? They want to enjoy campus social life like the rest of us did. Sometimes I think with SOME kids that may push studying to the side. I guess that's where the support system has to come into play. What's really the point-I think in Hawaii is was probably so the Coaching Staff could go surfing earlier. Then again June Jones had poor APR at Hawaii too.

Here's an article from Colorado describing the new rule-note Colorado coaches stated that if the rule had been in effect last year it would have effected 5-10 players

9 hours in the fall. Always frustrates me that we cant figure out how to get guys to wake up and show up to two classes MWF and one on TTh.
I will not make age an issue in this campaign. I'm not going to exploit for political purposes my opponent's youth and inexperience.

Most students have no Friday classes. My two at Cox haven't had a Friday class in the last three years. As far as early morning practices, it would keep me out of trouble at night and ensure I never missed a morning class. Afternoon practices, say 3:00 or 4:00PM would have kept me from my dorm or apartment until almost 8:00 or 9:00PM assuming showers, dinner etc. Would I have slept, partied or studied at that time?--I don't want to know, but probably in that order.
