Energy Providers

Post by NickSMU17 »

Illinois finally de-regulated energy providers, I think someone on this board represents an energy company...

Should I be switching providers from Com-ed to Constellation, direct energy, ect?

Can I get hurt in anyway by doing this, they are looking me in for 2 years 10% below my Comed rate?

Any help would be great

I switched over to Reliant Energy back when gas was over $4 a gallon. got paranoid it was going way up so I signed a two year agreement and have been getting screwed for the last two years as it went down from around 12.5 to 9ish. Their cancellation clause is not prorated. I will never sign a two year again. My contract ends in October and since their stance is you signed it and no matter how much were gouging you that's the way it is. They have no chance of keeping my bizz in November. Also check the little extra fees they charge they add up and not all of them do it.

Put in a new 15.5 seer trane in and out two months ago along with R49 in the attic. 40% off the electirc bill. be better in November too.

We have some guys in Dallas that trade the grid.....I asked them what they thought and they were all on board....I run through an average of 4000 KwH amonth....so I saved myself $400 on a 1 year contract...tough to get hurt....

You will continue to see massive commodity repricing until we start raising rates, or take some steps to strengthen the $$$

I just switched from TXU to Champion energy which locked me in at 8.9 per KWh down from 11.4. I think there is a $150 cancellation fee but I plan to be on this for at least 12 months so it shouldn't matter.
