I don't think Pye/Copeland era games should count for the all-time win/loss record. I don't count that era as actually playing football. It really should be considered a different sport.

I personally take offense to the term “Mexican yard boys†It’s racist and uncalled for. I love my Mexican brothers south of the border.
Hey, OneTrick, remember when we played UT and the coeds came to the Cotton Bowl with the large signs reading, "Our maid's children go to UT..."??

I agree. SMU beat the toads 15 years in a row before the DP, tcu took advantage during our self imposed ineptitude era, and finally took the lead in the all-time record. PONY UP!

I beg to differ - I think it's an embarrassment to SMU and we should own one of the billboards permanently along 75 and change it out. One of the busiest freeways in Dallas. And don't tell me about the Masters of Liberal Arts billboard,(the yellow one). Not having a marketing dept is a joke when you are trying to gain momentum. There are plenty of low cost ways to market.

I have discussed this many times and have brought it up with niemi as well that I think there should be a class offered either through the MBA or bBA marketing programs. Let them compete as teams with ad campaigns, winner get to put campaign into action. have judges from the local ad agencies, professors, coaches, ect.
Co budget with cox and ad office.
Can't be a better way for these kids to actually get some experience.
Every time I am given a good idea we will look into it....so far no follow through.

Look how early TCU is obsessing about SMU.
Obviously their game with us is their Super Bowl.

It would be fantastic experience for the students. As they say, if you don't trust your own marketing students to do your marketing, then why should I hire them?

Our Super Bowl is week 1 at Baylor...so maybe we have 2 of them this year...or maybe 3 since we play Boise in November.

I think that the TCU fan (of youtube fame) who mocked the Baylor players on their way off the field last year might just want to stay at home for this one. Another indication that the SMU game is of great importance to the Frogs - they scheduled to play Portland State 6 days prior to SMU.

Portland State was a late addition to the schedule after Texas Tech cancelled out on TCU. Tech was going to be the hard game before SMU came up. Not exactly a patsy.

Actually you are 100% correct. I know for a fact that we reached out to a number of BCS level schools who had openings and we couldn't get them to play us. And yes we offered a 1 and done at their place or a neutral site.

Why would a BCS team schedule the froggies? Makes no sense for them. Having the Portland State game allows TCU to essentially have a practice game agaisnt the same offensive scheme 6 days in advance of the SMU game. Good scheduling on part of the frogs. I just hope JJ will learn enough from their coaching staff to help us out a bit.
