1) Our guys have been hearing the same thing, more so than any years past. Also, we didn't exactly show a tendency to score quickly last year, it was long drives with no points. 2) Their "young" QB is a SR. 3) They do have a tendency to botch the first game against a lesser opponent. 4) They have just as many starters returning. The strength of the ATM defense is their secondary. It will be interesting to see if we can move the ball.

Well I will certainly be pulling for you. I also expect A&M to run the ball a lot until you show you can stop it. I think it will be a relatively low scoring game actually and I do expect SMU to try to run the ball to keep the defense off the field. SMU absolutely has to be able to run the ball and run some clock or it could be a long day.

Pony_law:.....I 'm sorry......Our 'ability to score quickly'?.....where did that come from? Did you watch the last 5 games of last year and against the bottom rated defenses in the country?

ReedFrawg, I wonder sometimes if JJ understands the concept of ball controll, especially when your team is very thin when it comes to lack of depth on defense. Don't get me wrong I support JJ and all he is doing to breath life back into our program, but you have to work with what you have and it is always not a great ideal to throw deep on third and one, especially when your bowling ball of a running back averages around 7-8 yards a carry.

I was under the impression that the ATM secondary was their weakness.

Hope we don't start the season with a freshman first game at punt returner on National TV. Man, that first fumble we had was a bad way to start last year at tech.

It's true we did not score quickly last year but the offense is designed for quick strikes, and at every luncheon with Jones he could point out plays where it should have been a touchdown, I am assuming KP will see these oppertunities this year with another year under his belt and we will torch them. No body is saying we are really good except for ourselves which I like.

QB has to see them.......not sure that was always the case. Hopefully, we see a combo of making right read and new guys stepping up.
I'm concerned about special teams.

Does that mean you'll be dinning at the Captain's table?

I don't fit in at stuffy events. I do have a captains circle number though...[/quote]
