Cory Muse is going to have a big game Saturday against OSU. My prediction: 4 sacks and 1 forced fumble. That guy is awesome. Go Ponies!

I hope you're right. But remember, he was committed to OSU before he saw the light and came to SMU. And from what I heard, Les Miles was none too thrilled by the decision. They might take extra care to make sure he doesn't have a monster game against them.

I made it up for the Tech game, but I missed the TCU game. I gather he played much better against Tech - someone said it had something to do with the finesse style of the TT offensive line, as opposed to the power style of the Frog line. Anyone know what kind of line OSU has (other than big)? As much as they've run the ball in the first couple of games, I would expect to see a line similar to TCU's, but that's just a guess on my part.

OK, Cory - you're on the hook for four sacks and a forced fumble - Bobby Savoy promised!

No kidding! I didn't realize they were teammates. Bet Muse would love to get his claws on his old buddy. Good stuff, Stallion - nice subplot.

Maybe Woods will get all nostaligic when thinking about all the touchdowns he threw to Muse (as his tight end) and lob a few more right into Muse's mitts!

All but one OL is returning for OSU, it's the best part of their returning team, but they are replacing the majority of their skill people. Defense is pretty stout. If by some miracle, we can stop the run with our depleted LB corp., their passing game is completely unproven, the OK papers are reporting that this may be a good time to test Woods passing, while the papers are warning spectators on the first couple of rows to look out. Maybe with a couple of interceptions, which we are due, we can keep the game in reason.

I think we ought to sell out on the run until Woods proves otherwise- I think he has only passed about 7 times a game. This is an entirely different OSU offense from last year.

Lucky DeLay has played really well against the run this year. Maybe this is a game where we kick him back out to DE, and have Adami/Bonds/Jones etc. plug up the middle. If we can force them to go to the air, this game might be a lot closer than some folks think. Of course, for that to happen, we need the linebackers and safeties to come up and make some plays.

which brings us to Wilton McCray and Joe Sturdivant who did have 12 and 9 tackles respectively in their first extended playing time. Hey at least they got around the ball which was pretty impressive. Both won state championships in high school and reportedly have the type of attitudes that coaches love. I'm interested to see how they do this week. Actually our interior defense against the run did not do that bad last week. Most of Hobbs big yards came on the option or outside.

How's McCray's foot?

You're right that the DTs did well last week. We need better push off the edge, from DEs and LBs, and the LBs and safeties (McCray, Sturdivant, and others) need to fly to the ball to make plays. This is a game in which we really need to swarm the ball and gang-tackle.

Oh yeah - we need to score, too.

Right. Offense being the key. It's been a long while since we've seen any on the Hilltop. Defensively, we did nothing to improve TCU's average last week. They put it on Northwestern too. We just continue to have problems finding the end zone on the other side of the ball.

Sure hope you're right about that forced fumble -- haven't had a takeaway in the first two games.
