Since the VAST majority of the money raised for these projects has come from private money, I guess I just feel grateful (but that's just me).

Millennium Park in Chicago was held together w/ private donors, most notably the Pritzkers...seems most art related public works projects have the name(s) of a primary private benefactor.

I'm saying it's about time. In my lifetime (since 1988), I have never heard Dallas mentioned w/ those cities that are most thought of w/ regards to art, entertainment, or beauty. This is a welcome and necessary step in the right direction, and I think you will find more often than not in major American cities the driving force behind civic betterment and pride is in fact private.

Please stop cheapening my SMU degrees. Go have a mock hanging down on the Baylor campus if that's what you're into.

Dallas better get off its [deleted] and fix its roads and public trans. They're embarrassing for the city.

wow - nice wet blanket.

a criticism of our absolutely horrible president does not cheapen anyone's degree. On the contrary it proves you can understand B.S. when you hear it and see through the cheap facade.

No doubt skills you learned on the Hilltop.

I'm a conservative, it's just no excuse to come across as an ignorant hillbilly on one of the first websites people see when searching for information on SMU.

There was not one statement on here that sounds like a hillbilly.

Liberals always play race card or call names when it is obvious current guy is so wrong on all economic issues...

Your statement was dumb.

poorly following John Maynard Keynes' philosophy sure didn't help us out!

over incentivising the supply side actually shrunk our middle class, which i think defeats the purpose of having lower taxes when the demand lags so far behind
