I am happy. Seems like we will continue our strong defense. I also think Bennett has put together a great team of recruiters.

Your point about them being great recruiters might be as important (almost) as their actual coaching ability.

FootballScoop.com (I think) said a while ago that Gush (the new LB coach/defensive coordinator) turned down the defensive coordinators' job at Kansas State to come here.

With all due respect to our great university, why? He undoubtedly would have made more money up there, coaching in the Big 12, gets to recruit JUCOs.... I'm thrilled he's here, but also a little surprised.

Perhaps the old virtues of respect and loyalty are still alive. I suspect Gush is here because Phil Bennett is here!
