This Year Could Be Something Special

Admittedly I was skeptical after the loss to Army last year along with the loss of some key starters to graduation. But after reading of the offseason progress in Coach de Laura's strength and conditioning program as well as the return of D. J., Torlan, and T. W., I have to say that this year could be something special. While I am not ready to give me preseason prediction of our record (I will do that after training camp before the 1st game), I do like what I have read and heard about what has happened in the offseason. Hopefully training camp goes well with no injuries and everyone just keeps doing what they are doing. Go SMU Mustangs!

Having Pittman and Wilkerson back is big, but I'm not sure any addition is as important as getting LeRibeus back. Can't wait to see him start cracking heads.

Josh L, TW, DJ, and Pittman all make this a stronger, deeper, more formidable team. That's almost 20% of our starting lineup that we might not have had, although TP might not start. Outside of Fields sticking it out, can't think of a better outcome this spring/summer personnel wise. Oh, wait...Gamble would have been a big pickup for the defense, but all in all quite good.
