Yea, A&M's buyout is crazy, too. It's one of the main reasons I still think they may stay. But if you are in the Big East and the SEC calls, you go, period.


Word is that a couple of SEC presidents want another private school. I would LOVE to see Rice go. That would be AWESOME.

I think that's when the A&M Board of Regents meet. I believe they are going to name a new chancellor and then discuss a potential move to the SEC.

Vandy has a lot of pull politically all over the South. There has never been any serious discussion about kicking them out of the SEC. Plus, I believe that having one private school exempts a conference from FOIA requests.

I can see GA Tech... Their split from the SEC was less than pleasant, if I remember correctly. They had bad blood with UGA all up and down the food chain. UF and GA want to keep FSU at an arms length, so I get that. What is the story on Clemson? I never thought they were that acrimonious with SC.

The story on Clemson is that they don't add any major media markets that SC doesn't already bring the SEC.

IMO, the "Legends of Old" won't play much of a factor in realignment in 2011. It's all about $$$ now, not petty p1ssing contests from way back when.
