We won't know until it happens. Seems to be a whiner, yes. I think Hawaii just got to be too much w/ the budget being awful and no upgrades. He certainly didn't leave on a good note w/ lawsuit, etc. Our alumni better wake up soon, or we'll be in the dust and left behind for any conference maneuvering. Orsini seems desperate to get out of here asap.

I was about to say something similar - so many threads about nothing we can control. Conf talk needs its own Menu Topic.

Albeit I'm going off a short history, but in hiring Jones and landing the W. library, SMU was as low key as possible, and in both situations we won. Hopefully the right people are working...quietly.
Who knows, maybe if that happens Adrian Klemm becomes HC.
And boom, you have just sidelined your best recruiter.
Head coaches are allowed to recruit (See Nick Saban), they just can't make visits during the spring. I'm not going to stereotype Coach Klemm in any way nor hold him back because he is a good recruiter. I think Coach Klemm would be a fine HC if given the chance IMO.

Singletary would be a great college coach. Randy Shannon needs a another shot too.

And now it bubbles to the surface as to the sources of the angst. I've been on record for 2 years being against Jones. It just took you a little longer. Welcome to the club.

I have said it multiple times on this board. I think Randy Shannon is a good man. He is a good to great recruiter. But he is not a good head coach. He doesn't manage games well and he doesn't get the best from the talent he does recruit. I would not want him to be JJ's replacement. I love Klemm! But I don't know if he is ready to be the head coach. I would love for him to be in a situation where he is groomed to take over a program, specifically our program. I just don't know if he is ready today. What scares the heck out of me during this whole thread. It is not if we get shut out again. We will get where we need to be eventually. It is that SMU's whole experiment to invest in the athletic department again will come to a screeching halt. We go back to the late 90's, early 00's in performance and effort.

You guys complain too much.
Tech isn't going to the Pac 10, Tech's academics aren't good enough.
UT has resisted pulling UH into the Big 12 for the exact same reason - academics. UH would be forced to raise their academic standards if they join the Big 12 anyway.
And whomever says "this is our last chance" is smoking crack. The Big 12 will not survive another 2 years unless they pull in ND and BYU.

They are never going to get ND. That one is off the table before the conversation even starts.
