Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, or TCUModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, orDarn, you caught me before I could edit. I hate when that happens. If you want to talk mess on us, go with the bowl games: "Don't go after us for losing to a better team in the first championship game we've been in since Reagan was president. You need to go after us for a horrifically pathetic bowl game in which we couldn't even score 17 points on a terrible, slow, nonathletic, much less talented Army team...we...lost...to...ARMY. WE ONLY SCORED 14 POINTS ON ARMY...AT HOME. Much better line of attack."
Re: Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, orcongrats...now will you leave....
Re: Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, orPer Richard Justice twitter (FWIW)
Don't get your hopes up yet, UH fans, but Mack Rhoades has done great working building a relationship with UT. 54 minutes ago
Re: Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, orWorst ever that [deleted] university is going to get in....
beyond pissed...
Re: Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, orIf Houston leaves to join the Big 12 and we are stuck holding the back we are SCREWED. CUSA becomes the Sun Belt and we are knocked even further down the pecking order. Should this happen SMU should have serious conversations about the future of the program and if we really want to be associated with the kind of schools that will be left after the superconferences start aligning.
Norm said earlier that we will have 4 sixteen team conferences within 10 years. Everyone else will be dropped to Div. 1AA. Does SMU really want to be one of those teams? Is it worth it to us to even try? Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, or
Anyone have a clue as to what Orsini is up to these days? SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, orNick and Model T, you two are so entertaining. On one hand you've got Mr. Hothead Overreaction and on the other you've got Eeyore in human form. Lol.
Re: Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, oras usual you have no idea what you are talking about...
Re: Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, orOK. So I'm Eeyore for seeing NO future whatsoever for SMU if we aren't in the mix for realignment? I'm being serious. If it comes down to that then lets throw a sh*t ton of money into the basketball program and into academia and become the University of Chicago. I'd rather do that than be D1AA after the dust settles.
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, orIt's not just that post, my East Texas brother. There's just a pattern there, a consistency to your posts. I do think there is something to your concern in this case, though I'm not as worried.
And I'm cracking up about Nick. How long did it take for him to lay down a hothead overreaction? Like a slot machine that guy.
Re: Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, orIf we are left out of a super conference I say keep football but put very little emphasis on it. Maybe drop all together. Then put all your resources into basketball. You only need 5 good players to make a run.
Re: Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, orI agree. After the dust settles if we are left out (and at this point you'd have to believe we will) we might consider dropping football. Pains me to say it but we got serious about football too little too late. I hope I'm wrong.
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, orRidiculous comments. You are actually suggesting dropping the football program? OVERREACTION
