Send it to Turner, you and others have been doing him for over a decade.

Re: Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, orIf A&M leaves, does anybody think there will still be a Big 12? The Big 12 even with A&M seems like a short term play for Texas. This is why A&M is being proactive. Texas really wants to be independent and short of that, join the Pac-12 or Big 10. Just cant see them staying in a nine team conference or a Big 12 with Houston and SMU.
Re: Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, orWhy not ? - best of both worlds - they get an oversized share wihtout having to scramble for schedule and meanwhile they continue some local rivalries and also all other sports travel relatively short distances. They have an easier schedule and are the only "super power". Dont know why UT wouldnt love that.
Re: Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, orI believe UT has two alternatives Big 12 or Independence. No other conference has indicated a willingness to deal with the LHN. Oh I guess they could form a loose confederation of schools with their own networks

Re: Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, orLatest rumor has PAC 16 as a possibility again. I don't know how the PAC would feel about The Longhorn Network but the opportunity to add the cash cow that is Texas along with OU, OSU, and Tech might be too much to ignore.
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, oryeah I can see it-but there will have to be compromises. SMU really now doesn't want this because then PAC and Big East sweep up Big 12 except Baylor and Iowa St.. Really our best scenario is to end up in a non-BCS conference with Houston,Baylor and red headed step child Tech. I could live with that

Re: Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, or
That is not true. The SEC has made it very clear with public statements that the Longhorn Network would be welcome if UT joined the SEC. SEC schools own their 3rd tier rights and schools like Florida have made millions with that.
Re: Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, orI'd be SHOCKED if Texas Rech is left twisting in the wind. I think they will ride UT's coattails wherever they go.

Re: Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, or
Actually, the best scenario for SMU would be for the Big 12 to stay together and want to go to 12 but have Notre Dame, BYU, and others turn them down so SMU would be added. I could see Houston being added if they want 1 more team from the state of Texas, but if they want 2 from Texas than I would think SMU would be the other.
Re: Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, or
I seriously doubt that Texas wants to go indy because they have no good place to park their Olympic sports. Notre Dame has the Big East...hard to do better than that for their non-football teams. Texas has nothing comparable to the Big East as an option. The LHN needs content and much of that will come from the Olympic sports. There are a ton of UT basketball, baseball, etc. games that could be shown on the LHN that would make quite a bit of money for the network...if they are in a decent conference.
Re: Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, orI just finished one bottle of wine watching SMU/Navy replay-if I open another I might jump on board with that dream. Houston is in line ahead of SMU and I don't see why Texas(read Big 12) would want more than 10 teams

Re: Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, orI don't think Texas wants anything to do with either Houston or SMU. However, if they put out feelers to ND, BYU, etc and those schools say no then they may be forced to add teams that they are less than thrilled about. More than likely the Big 12 would stay at 9 teams instead of adding perceived dead weight to the conference. But if Dodds and UT want to get to 12 SMU would certainly be in that conversation somewhere.

Re: Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, orReason for wanting 12 is it makes having a conference title game possible.

Re: Richard Justice: Big 12 Looking to Add Houston, SMU, orDoes anybody know what States the LHN is availiable. Here's a streach but say its only in Texas-then UT might be willing to add multiple Texas teams until it gets off the ground
