Jack Pardee's Cougars went 3-0 against UT ('87-89), including 66-15 in 1988 in Austin.
Regarding MBA involvement, that's a noble cause. I recruit Cox MBAs and am on the Associate Board so I think that greater efforts should be spent on the frats and sororities and undergrads in general.
I find that Cox MBAs who got their undergrad degree at SMU are the most enthusiastic about sports. That seems like about 15% of the MBA student body. Many of SMU's MBA students come from other Southwest U.S. undergrads, and have loyalties to those programs (if at all). They can watch their undergrad schools on TV, meet with local alumni for watch parties or go to the games.
The FT students are the ones who have more free tim to go to games. That's about 150 students. PMBAs and EMBAs are highly distracted with jobs and families. From the outside looking in, it seems like Kevin Knox is doing a solid job with the tailgating parties on the Boulevard.
Yes, great article by Richard Justice on the Coogs. I'd like a twelve team conference with UH, SMU and TCU. A&M's departure creates a hole in the Houston area.
