In politics, quiet, patient attentiveness is the best approach...Get your message across very quietly. Last time I checked the press has no vote.

i guess that would explain the meager campaign budgets we've been seeing lately?

As a Chicagoan, I assume that is a dig. As for Dallas bidding and getting Olympics, it will never happen for two reasons, USOC blew the 2016 Bid by mismanagement and, second, hosting the Olympics in Dallas in August/September weather would be crimminal to the athletes' health. Atlanta was bad enough.

If an Olympian breaks the 100 meter sprint world record, and Jerry World has the dome closed, it is an indoor record?

I thought this thread was about the Big 12, what do you mean "campaign budget"? This is not accomplished with ads in a newpaper or flyers.

USAToday: "Big 12 could look to make schools legally binded." Not a problem for SMU.

Regrettably the natatorium ceiling will have fallen into the pool by that time... Maybe the Olympic Committe could find us a lead donor to build the new pool.

Pocono is on target for three reasons. First, we will have to shutter Perkins well before 2020, two, Dallas is never going to win the Olympic bid (too hot in August for the world athletes and the USOC will blow it again as they did for 2016 Chicago) and, last, Olympic pools are often temporary structures.

I just wonder what the Dallas Morning News is going to do? I have been a subscriber for decades but recently got my yearly statement. It was over $380 a year to be a daily subscriber to the Dallas Morning News. How many people are going to continue paying that kind of money as the print media continues to shrink? I went ahead and re-upped for another six months. Not sure I will do that again. It appears many magazines are lowering subscriber rates and relying almost solely on ads instead of subscribers for their income.

Yep, because Atlanta isn't hot at all. :D[/quote]

As I recall, there was some creativity used by Atlanta in the avg summer temps they quoted in their bid
