It seems that Kyle Padron at SMU had a bit of the dreaded sophomore slump last year and didn't measure up to the expectations he set his freshman year. What do you think about this kid? Any reasonable expectations he'll take the next step this year?

June Jones seems to think that he will be able to, but that to me is one of the biggest questions for SMU going into the season. I give Keenum and Kinne the edge over him in the West. I thought last season Padron held onto the ball too long and telegraphed his passes. He has some good receivers to get the ball to, but he has got to be better in the deep passing game. SMU lost too many chances for big plays last season because they could not hit their long passes.

Good the he got stronger in the offseason to handle the extra weight. Don't play QB if you can't handle the pressure.
