I like the size on these guys compared to our classes in the past with so many 170 lb guys. Now I want to see some LBs and more playmakers. We probably need a frosh QB to RS and learn.

That is an impressive list, and from what I hear, we have a chance (a good chance) to add some more very good prospects. Keep your fingers crossed.

With that in mind, and with the recent slew of injuries, here's what I'd like to see in February's class (if we can offer a full 25 scholarships):

Seven OLs is a lot for one class - we don't want them all to graduate at the same time. But I would think five or six is a must, and we absolutely have to redshirt at least half of them (if not all - and that's only if Burley and Benson and Morton can contribute next year.) Our depth will look a lot better when guys return to full health.

But we need 2, not 1 QB's.

We have shown an inability to judge QB talent (unless you count musical ability).

Give me this bunch - even with the understanding that one might not be a player - and I'll take my chances. And that's also accepting the fact that Chris Hall sounds like he's pretty strong in his commitment to OSU. So take him out of the equation: give me Enright, Allison, Hickman, McCraw, Hart and Wynn, and scratch one for not developing - that's still five good OL prospects.

Hmmm .... maybe we'd better add one or two to that list. I'd like to see 6 or 7 who can play in this year's class. Don't have to play right away, but that would help.

Here is a blurb that I saw at Dave Campbell's Texas Football site that mentioned our recruits so far:

"In our previous update, we reported SMU picking up a commitment from Humble OL David Allison. The 6-5, 290-pound Allison (5.5 speed) attended the SMU-Texas Tech after leading the 'Cats (who then lost to rival Katy this past weekend) to a 34-13 victory over Elsik on Friday night. SMU also picked up a commit from Rowlett OL Josh Hickman (6-4, 280, 5.3), the top prospect this fall for the 5A Eagles, who sent OT Cody Baker to Texas Tech from their '03 squad. Earlier this month, we also reported Missouri gaining a commitment from Lancaster RB/LB Chad Washington. The 6-1, 205-pound Washington has 4.5 speed and competes in one of the state's top 4A districts, alongside Corsicana and Ennis, among others. Prior to Washington, we reported SMU gaining a commit from North Crowley LB Todd Alexander. The 6-2, 215-pound Alexander (4.6 speed) led the Panthers to the 4A, Div. I crown last December with 120 tackles and two INTs."
