The constant longing for Hawaii from this staff turned into a beatdown for me about 5 months after the drama queen got here. I am so sick of Jones and the other coaches talking about that state. For nearly four years, we've been getting the GD references to Hawaii about every other week. You know if it was such a black hole out there, then their arrival here only proves that they all came here for the bigger paycheck and to get their retirement accounts set up. And if they happen to mix in a couple of winning seasons....well, then they can walk on water and show everybody how genius they are. Part of me wishes that SOB never stepped foot on this campus.

Yea mitch, you got it right. JJ is here only for the money. That is why he turned down maryland (and twice the salary.) You the man keeping it real. More attention has come SMU's way in JJ's tenure than the last, well, forever. Things have been better since JJ showed up. Let us just get to a championship and win, then let us see how it all really shakes out. Go Ponies!!

HAH!! Can you say leverage candidate? Jones wasn't getting that job and his camp leaked that he interviewed. TWICE the salary?? Maryland hired Randy Edsall for 1.6 million base, plus incentives...and your asserting they offered June somewhere in the neighborhood of 5-5.5 million per year? Yeeeesh.

Just expect this feeling to continue to grow especially if the season doesn't go the way it hopes it does. I find it interesting that there were those who were upset with me when I called it on June 2 years ago. Now, it's starting to filter out more and more. June Jones is a flat out fraud.
Not liking June does not make him a fraud. And it removes your objectivity.

I amsure you were in the know Stlhockeyguy. Word from maryland is they did press for JJ, and yes maybe twice is a bit much, the monies they mentioned were a lot more than what Edsall is getting. Granted, I am not in the know, but that is what was conveyed to me from folks there. The point is, JJ isn't about the money. Can we move on now?? We have a$m to face. Go Ponies!!

You could share a room to make it cheaper.

I don't Share hotel rooms with men. They snore, leave things on the soap, want the remote.
I prefer panties, smooth legs, and suntans.

When you've had 2 face-to-face conversations with the man and come away with the same distrustful impression each time, it tells me all I need to know. I'm sorry if my stance on June isn't popular with the masses, but I don't think I'm wrong about him. Why did it take 7 months for him to sign his extension after he agreed to it? Why did his surrogates purposely float the MD job situation out there the week of the Army game? Why are we stuck with 2 horses that have no business being connected to our campus? Why is he ok with some assistant coaches not getting off their butts and recruit? I'm just going to say this: He knows this is the year this program really has to take that major step. And if it doesn't, look for him to blame everybody but himself for what went down. I hope I never hear that, but that's the way he rolls. Don't look for me to come around on him anytime soon.

I don't really care if Jones is only here for money. 95% of coaches are at the school they are at because of money or for a career stepping stone. The Hawaii stuff is tiring however.
