UH to get new stadium

I am not sure if this has been posted before but I heard on the radio this morning that UH is in the works to build a new stadium with something like $60 million in alumni donations.

Can you really build anything that resembles decent for $60. Isn't TCU's upgrade twice that?

off by 100 million..it's $160million, which includes 40 million to renovate Hofheinz and 120 for the football stadium...they started talking about it last year

What did Ford cost? I thought I recall a number such as $50M?

Do they really have the 60 Million yet anyway ? I read last year that Houston was wanting to raise more money than 60 million to rebuild their stadium. Houston has been talking about rebuilding their stadium for over a year, yet in the past has not been able to raise the money...We could raise the money needed in a month to increase our stadium attendance.

Water Pony, Ford was built over 10 years ago. The cost today would be much more.

Houston is announcing this without first having the money to build it for conference realignment posturing. I am sure the Big 12 told them to be considered for the Big 12 it would have to upgrade its facilities. Again, this is just speculation on my part. Without funding in place, it is probably 5 years down the road before this thing is built if at all.

What I read yesterday is they got a 10 Million dollar donation but still needed 25 Million unless this is new information
