NCAA Pres says death penalty is option

Postby S....M....U » Fri Aug 19, 2011 5:00 pm

Of course now that they have found, what is now, a lesser program they could make an example of (Miami), they consider the death penalty as a viable option. Much like was done to us in the 80s. I did not see the NCAA make a statement using the words "death penalty" at any point in time during the USC/Ohio state fiascos. Although they were repeat offenders. Ridiculous.

Anyway, thought this was an interesting headline on espn.

It's going to be embarrassing if another program gets the death penalty and recovers within their first 5 years.

Oh and please spare me the lecture on why it took us so long, I know our own school's increased standards hurt a lot. Still..

Miami has an excellant coaching staff, if they stay they will recover quickly--they will be back in four years assuming they only lose one year of recruiting and games. It may take 5-10 years to win the lowly ACC, but I would bet they will get to better than .500 faster than SMU, even giving us a twenty year head start!

It took Orsini only a couple of years to get June but, once we had a coach it took only three years to get us to a bowl. Once we made the commitment to win things began to happen.

Miami will start with a good coach, the current AD and no change in admissions policies--the prisoners (the faculty) will not take over the prison and make it impossible for the coaching staff to win.

The DP talk is so much disinformation.

I agree with Pony Dad, The NCAA doesn't have the testicles to to pull the trigger. What is more likely to happen: "Move along people. Nothing to see here."
Some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall
