Incredible Offer From Thad - Please Read

Thad has offered to create a promo video for SMU to play at Ford - his price is $5k (see details below and from the Pony Excess (Page 2 - http://www.ponyfans.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=53773&start=15)). We need 50 ponyfans to buck up $100 to get this done - - a number of us have already committed. He guarantees greatness. Join the party.

I could make grandma's weep and big state school fans jealous for 15K. Probably could even do it for 10. Music would be an issue, probably want to add another 10K to commission some original music.

I mean even for 5K in total I could bang out something that looked like it cost 50K.

That would be amazing. That little intro video they've been tossing before the games this past season is incredibly underwhelming.

Yeah, I can see it now... you start with overly dramatic "Rudy"/war movie music with the old stuff... and then crank it up to rap song. Like the opening of The U, but not as cheesy... and not as offensive.... just big plays, what not.

While rap isn't my favorite genre (I don't have one... in fact I am just as likely to be jamming to NWA as I am to pumpin' Beethoven as you see me pull up to campus) and I know all the blue hairs on here might flip out over something like a rap song (I remember all the "Nuck if you Buck" complaints - which was silly, you look down and you see our team getting jacked up to play, well as a fan that *should* get you jacked up about the game)... this is, like everything else, all about recruiting.

Give the kids what they want. It's all about winning....

Any way we can get this pinned up top somewhere? It really is a fabulous offer and we need to keep it as visible as possible to get it to really take off. I'd be willing to dig some $$ out of my piggy bank for something like this.

I think that's great but wouldn't you rather have a media blitz? Even if it's awesome which i know it would be - what is the distribution of it and who would see - just us SMU diehards?

If you copy / paste this video, keeping the same length and sound, but changing the football clips to basketball ones, what would be the additional cost?

(One Trick beat me to it, but...) Somebody start a PayPal account. (Problem is PayPal takes minimal percentages away.) ... but as soon as we hit the number I will start working.

Hell, if you guys are game, I'll start getting my crew together now if I see money coming in! Frankly, it's all about paying them. We'll have something ready for the conference home opener.

I love me some Thad. But I have been burned too many times by SMU (non) promotions. I am in on this one as I stated in another thread, but we first need to have a commitment from the powers that be. We need for Thad to be contracted to do the job "if the funds are available". When I see the contract, I am in but until then I am not paying for another "empty bus".
