Sold tickets do not = people in stands.

On another note: I would like to add a little positive interjection to this thread, a little excitement if you will.

do you think we can get 26k per game this year (average)?

No. I'm afraid we will decline. Season tix are flat or down relative to same time last year. The bowl game factored into last years numbers. And this program was pretty successful last year.

Rice climbed 12,000 average attendance per game last year.

Four Division I teams enjoyed increased crowds of more than 10,000 fans per game from last year. Leading the way was Louisville, which benefitted from a newly expanded Cardinal Stadium. Louisville enjoyed an 18,198-person increase per game from 2009 to 2010. The Cardinals were followed by Northwestern (12,259), Rice (12,019) and Eastern Michigan (10,869).

I would attribute a major piece of that to having home games against Texas and Houston. We do not have a TCU, Texas, Tech or other home draw like that this year to help single game ticket sales. It will decline significantly without programs like this.

Let me get this straight. You are saying that there's no way we average 26K per game at home this year?

Agreed. It's frustrating but I don't see how we do it.

Well it starts with a proper marketing plan....and aggressive innovative people at the helm....

I could go on and on, but not enough space in this little window...

I know how we do it long run. I meant I don't see how we do it in the next 17 days.

Or you could come through with a sizeable Sellout Stampede contribution :P
