Many have expressed on this forum that this is a waste of money.

I have to say that this is worth every cent over a billboard on some highway. If coaches are limited in thier communications - this is as good as a half hour in-home visit to any recruit that watches it.

This is a recruiting tool that is extremely valuable to SMU and should be continued. This show is being shown on two different networks and on an almost daily occurance.

I like watching the show but I have never read of a recruit on rivals or scout referencing the show. They all reference Pony Excess, but never this show. Not saying none of them watch it, but you would think someone would have mentioned it.

While the narrating is pretty monotone. I will say that it really shows how laid back our coaches are. It also shows how close the team is and how much they get along. Which, if I was a recruit would be important. Plus most of the stadium shots they show are of our most crowded games and sections of the stadium.

Finally got to watch it last night, and yeah, Kyle looked like a completely different person. Much bigger and more cut. He looks like a top-tier QB now; let's hope he performs that way on Sunday.

I did not say kids did not want to be on it, I said I had never read any of them mention it in their interviews with the recruiting services although I had seen them mention pony excess often. If it is making a big impression on them, then you would think they would mention it at least as much as they mention Texas de Brazil.

Couldn't disagree more. I have no idea if it really cost 300k but recruits and football fans love that stuff. I've already had several co-workers from Big XII schools comment on the episode, all positive. One in particular was how they always remembered the SMU players being small but now they look like they belong in big-time college football. I think it was a great job by the administration getting it on FSSW. If my Mustang Club money went to that, great.

Many of us are not in the DFW area and can't attend some of the functions where fans can meet and greet players and coaches. This show gives us some insight into our players, coaches and system. That might not be worth 300K or whatever the cost but it sure is wonderful for guys like me. More than recruits, I hope it interest folks to at least give us a watch on TV. With more TV games, we have a greater opportunity to win some casual national fans. And that helps ratings and ratings helps us move to a better position to take advantages of opportunities. And it has the potential to reach far more folks around the country than local advertising.

We may never be the DFW team but we can generate a national following that at least makes our TV audience and ratings more attractive.
