What was the attendance for the SJSU game?

Postby Sam I Am » Sat Sep 25, 2004 10:04 pm

The game announcers sounded like we had a good crowd at the game. How many?

The crowd was much better than one might have thought for a team with a 15 game losing streak and coming off two blow-out defeats. It had to be between 15-18K.

crowd was much better than I expected. It always looks like less than it is too with the club level seating. Those people sit behind glass, I sure wish we could get the extra noise they would provide.

Before I saw your post, I was thinking 15-18k. It may post slightly higher. There were quite a few in the end zone (likely freebies for the FCA etc.)

I agree totally, Hoop Fan. We need those voices in the stands, not behind glass!

I'm yelling behind the glass, you just can't hear me.

I was positively shocked by the attendance and by the performance. Don't know what else I can say at this point. I want to let this one sink in.

Were those 'butts-in-seats' or ticket sales?

Diehard and MrMustang - yelling behind the glass is better than not yelling at all, so keep it up!

My guess on attendance would have been 18,000 prior to the official announcement so I would think the 17,800 figure was butts in seats, or close to it.

Fans in attendance. I don't work in the athletic ofice, so I don't know the actual ticket sales. I was pleasantly surprised to see the number of people there. Granted, some had discount tickets. But, they were there.

The administration had to be surprised by the size of the crowd. Three different refreshment stands were out of Diet Coke by halftime!

Out of diet coke?! oh the horror.

I'm glad many people came. Our ponies need us...good times AND bad.
