Because UT has an annual game in Dallas every year (so they see it as they don't need another recruiting trip to the city). They don't have an annual game in Houston so they have a long-term series with Rice to play there as much as possible. They used to schedule UH as well but they cut that series off after Bleachergate.

I was at the game...they spelled out $EC and then made the comment that the Aggies' moved served to raise the average intelligence of both conferences.

Called SEC "Satan's Evil Conference" for good measure. The crowd loved it.
