MON UTEP DAY ONE...DISSAPOINTMENT IN HOW WE PLAYED LAST NIGHT...A&M IS A VERY GOOD AND DESERVING OF A #8 NATIONAL RANKING - CAN NOT SPOT A TEAM THAT GOOD 3 DRIVES STARTED INSIDE OF THE 50 IN THE FIRST QUARTER...J.J. MC DERMOTT DID A NICE JOB ENTERING THE GAME IN THE FIRST QUARTER AND COMPLETING 21 OF 34 FOR 254 AND A TOUCHDOWN...ZACH LINE WHO RUSHED FOR 128 YARDS AND AVERAGED 5.8 PER RUSH - COLE BEASLEY AND DARIUS JOHNSON WERE BRIGHT SPOTS...ON TO UTEP AND OUR HOME OPENER SATURDAY...PONY UP!

Absolutely!

Home opener, conference opponent, short week to prepare — this is a big (and somewhat scary) game.

Can tell he didn't ever play football in Texas. There are no bright spots when you lose! You win and lose as a team. If the d gives up 43 then the o has to score 44. If the o only scores 14 then the d has to hold the other team to 13. Padding stats against the other team subs and calling timeouts to try to score with your first team against their subs with the game over is not the way "football purists" play the game, especially in a state proud of it's football and knowledge thereof.

Field position was awful all night, both sides of the ball. Our kicking game is abysmal right now, even IF you throw out the botched onside kick. Both up & down wind, atm pinned us to a touchback (or worse the one time we tried to run it out). I'll be curious to see what our FG unit looks like, but we've got to find someone who can reach the endzone on kickoffs.
