Defense has to be better this year, so what gives?

I love when hoopmanx takes a shot at the football team. Of course, we know Doherty would schedule BenDoverU so a rich alum could buy a Playoff Game in a 3rd rate Tournament. Game was lost on signing date in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011. Sorry some didn't realize that coming in.

I think you're missing the part where hoopmanx is making a point you've long espoused. That is, enough whining that we should've been the ones starting the season vs E Illinois or SUNY-Geneseo and falling back on the satisfaction of getting 6 wins in CUSA...to go where we want to go, need to compete. And by compete that means against high level competition.

hoopmanx will say the same thing if SMU hoops gets blown out by OSU or Stanford or whomever, which I don't expect. mostly b/c the talent disparity isn't as vast as what we saw last night. Last nights game may have been lost years ago in recruiting, but I don't care. I've got 2.75 million reasons why excuses need to go away

hoopy- IIRC your bball got blown away by some very low ranked/class teams so cool it about Fball playing ranked teams. Also, you consistently [deleted] about JJ's salary. He earns it which is more than I can say about that charlatan coaching bball. Doh sucked us out of a 5-7 yeaqr non-cancellable contract at far more than he was worth and I dare you to compare his results to JJs. What is Doh's winning % vs JJs? You may know a lot about bball but you don't know [deleted] about fball- go back to your bball hole ponydoh.

They are playing the wrong defense for their talent. Linebackers too small and de's bottled up vs. talent coming from an a&m team. If they ran a 5-3 and used the de's for outside contain and quarterback rush...different game. In CUSA...they can run their scheme and get away with it. Doesn't make it good.

If our OOC holds in the next few yrs - won't get any easier. Our D seemed ok in '09 with less talent. However didn't play A&M. Our LBs could be bigger for sure.
