Re: Baylor is not aloneLosers looking for a hand-out. What a bunch of BS. Do BU and ISU really think they are going to win anything. If aTm pays the 'opt-out' fee then I don't believe the other schools have a leg to stand on.
GO PONIES!!!
Re: Baylor is not aloneA&M president: 'We are being held hostage'
Pursuant to Stewart Mandel
I sincerely hope this is true and the Big 12 -2 (eh 3 perhaps ?) stays together and/or expands back to 12 as I dread the thought of Okie Cowpokes and Pistol Packin' Red Raiders tramping the Coliseum turf where my Trojans and Traveler reign! ![]() Last edited by HB Pony Dad on Wed Sep 07, 2011 8:01 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Big 12 lined up against A&M I guess BEVO doesn't want to lose their Ag Love Interest after all!

Re: Baylor is not alonesounds like aggie has himself a really big bill coming his way.
Re: Baylor is not aloneSo I offer a compromise. All remaining B12 teams agree to stay and SMU agrees to replace A&M. Sounds good to me.
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Baylor is not aloneSports Illustrated:
"tortious interference" "injunctive relief" "irreparable harm" Interesting legal comments from this article and video. I like the hard ball approach by Baylor and perhaps 4 or 5 other Big 12 members. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/w ... ig-12-sec/ Comments about resurrecting the Southwest Conference, as well as this post on the Baylor Website: Football in Texas is more than a passing interest, it is a part of the fabric of this great state. • Will Texans stand by and watch hundred-year-old rivalries be cast aside as the state's largest universities align themselves with other states across the country? • Will Texans sit and watch as Texas' flagship universities pledge their loyalties to other states? • Will Texans stand by as our most promising student athletes are lured out of Texas by new rivals? • Will Texans watch as our most precious resources -- the great minds of the next generation -- are exported to new conference institutions? Pony Up
Re: Baylor is not aloneBaylor and the other schools are just doing what A&M is doing...looking out for their own interests above all else.
The Aggies are being hypocrites here, plain and simple.
Re: Baylor is not aloneThey agreed to a contract, just because Dan the "idiot" is in charge, doesn't mean the Aggies should not be held accountable for a contract they agreed to not even a year ago. Dumb asses! What do they think a contract is for?
Re: Baylor is not alone
All of these things came to pass when the SWC broke up. Baylor wasn't crying then. Tough.
Re: Baylor is not aloneI am really surprised that Bebe is still the commish, he should have been fired long ago - the schools should have raised a stink when Nebraska and Colorado left.... And blocked the Bevo network. Surely as a band of schools together could have formed a Big 12 network and made everyone happy.
Re: Baylor is not alone
UT got the leverage for the LHN when they pretended to flirt with the PAC 12 a couple of years ago. They were also plenty glad to see Nebraska leave since they have always considered Nebraska and the Big 12 title game to be unnecessary impediments to their path to the BCS title game. Bottom line: Greed wins out because the NCAA has no control over the game. There is no effective governing body to look out for the best interests of the sport and the players. The list of reforms that would bring about more competition and participation are too long to list.
Re: Baylor is not aloneRule number one.............. never never give up a right to sue unles serious cash to pay off that right is involved
Re: Baylor is not aloneNice letter from Beebe-hope he is getting plenty of heartburn after f***king the Ponies way back when. Karma sucks!
Re: Baylor is not aloneRule #2 there is no consideration for a waiver unless you receive something in return. In other words a waiver is unenforceable if there is nothing paid for it. I suspect there is a sub-plot in all of the Big XII fine print that is not being discussed. Unless the President and the Trustees of A&M and their lawyers are totally stupid (granted they are Aggies), they must think that they have some legal right to leave for free, like an out clause, a breach of some material term of the contract, perhaps like Billy Clyde did to them, they never signed the contract, there's got to be something there that they feel legally gives them an out. Otherwise, they are a team without a conference. We'll take them in CUSA.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
